Child & Youth Community-Based Care

Are you ready to grow your skills, knowledge, and competencies in the field of Child & Youth Community-Based Care on a schedule that fits your lifestyle?

Group

The Child & Youth Community-Based Care microcredential program is designed to provide learners with foundational knowledge and the ability to support children and youth in community-based care using current trends and strength-based practices.

Microcredentials are shorter, focused, practical modules of learning that better fit the schedules of people who already have work, family, or community responsibilities.

This microcredential program will include a series of ten courses as follows: Inclusivity Through Social Justice, Child & Youth Well-Being, Professional Practice, Relational Practice, Trauma & Behaviour, Supporting Mental Health, Therapeutic Activity Programming, Navigating Conflict, Crisis Intervention, and Documentation & Assessment.

Upon successful completion of each course, the learner will earn a microcredential. A visual representation of the microcredential is issued to the learner as a digital badge. The learner can share the digital badge on a resume, LinkedIn profile, e-portfolio, or other digital network allowing employers to see what the learner can do as it shows evidence of the assessed competencies.

Each course can stand alone and be taken independently based on the training needs of the learner, or a learner can stack all 10 courses to earn the Child & Youth Community-Based Care Worker milestone digital badge.

Take the Training OR Claim Your Badge via PLAR

If a learner has prior knowledge that is equivalent to some or all of the competencies for any of the microcredentials in this program, they may be a good candidate for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).

PLAR at 51勛圖app aims to provide everyone with an alternative pathway to formal recognition for their learned life, work, and non-formal training experience relevant to their field of interest. After a self-assessment, approved learners must provide evidence of their prior learning, using the authentic assessment methods of the microcredential.
