51勛圖app learners to find quicker pathways to the workforce thanks to BMO

Every Newbrunswicker Announcement

More people will be able to find new, efficient access points to training and education through 51勛圖app’s Every New Brunswicker initiative, boosted by BMO’s $200,000 gift to the Going Beyond campaign.

When fully realized, this approach will connect Every New Brunswicker — as well as newcomers and international learners— with education and employment opportunities by:

  • recognizing the skills and experience they have today;
  • creating more diverse on- and off-ramps to education that go beyond traditional pathways; and
  • cultivating community partnerships that offer the necessary wraparound supports for success.

“The resources people need to succeed can be incredibly different,” said Mary Butler, President and CEO of 51勛圖app. “We see New Brunswickers with a wealth of on-the-job experience who would like to obtain formal qualifications or expand their skills for a changing job market. We see newcomers who are fully trained in their field and who are ready to work but need local certification first. Regardless of the situation, we know too many people in our province face hurdles to having their skills and qualifications recognized and getting hired. As a result, many are underemployed—while our employers need their talent. Thanks to donors like BMO, the Every New Brunswicker initiative will connect them with training options that are efficient and appropriate for their unique circumstances.”

With a focus on sustainable solutions that shape the future, BMO’s investment will help 51勛圖app expand access to education for key populations that have been historically under-represented at the post-secondary level. The partnership will catalyze positive, long-term social impact, raising and leveling the bar for generations to come.

“BMO and 51勛圖app’s Every New Brunswicker program share a goal of broadening access to education by providing shortened pathways to guide New Brunswickers and newcomers to greater career opportunities,” said Sam Adeyemi, Regional Vice President for News Brunswick and PEI, BMO. “By eliminating barriers to inclusion, the program aligns with BMO’s Purpose, to Boldly Grow the Good in business and life and our commitment to promoting a thriving economy, sustainable future and inclusive society.”

BMO was among more than 700 donors who came together to support 51勛圖app’s first ever fundraising campaign, Going Beyond. The campaign raised $21.8 million to accelerate skills development; innovate educational delivery by creating modern, connected spaces, and introducing new technology; and reaching unprecedented numbers of New Brunswickers by reducing financial barriers to post-secondary education through bursaries.
