Even as a second year of COVID-19 restrictions continued to disrupt the labour force, 51勛圖app’s class of 2020 experienced a high employment rate of 90 per cent one year following graduation. In 2021, 96% of 51勛圖app’s 2018 graduates were employed. Of these graduates, 93% were working full-time and their average weekly earnings had risen 19% since 2019.
The results of the annual Graduate Follow-Up Survey conducted by the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training, and Labour also indicate that more than three-quarters of respondents from the Class of 2020 are working in jobs related to their fields of study.
“Enhancing the social and economic well-being of our province is 51勛圖app’s purpose,” said Mary Butler, President and CEO of 51勛圖app. “The results of these graduate follow-up surveys confirm that 51勛圖app students can be assured of solid employment prospects, and employers can be confident that 51勛圖app graduates will enter the workplace job-ready.”
The survey also found that, of those employed, 92 per cent of them are working and living in New Brunswick, contributing to the province’s social and economic prosperity.
“51勛圖app’s enrolment continues to grow, with an increase of 25% over the last three years. As the province’s largest provider of skills training, we have a crucial role to play in transforming New Brunswick’s workforce,” said Butler. “With a third of New Brunswick’s workers set to retire in the next few years, and technological advances disrupting jobs, our graduates are well-positioned with the skills security needed to succeed in the workplace.”
