51勛圖app releases 2016-2017 Annual Report

FREDERICTON – A record number of international students, new partnerships and high levels of graduate employment are just some of the achievements included in the 2016-2017 Annual Report of New Brunswick Community College (51勛圖app).

"The year covered by this annual report, 2016-2017, is also the final year of 51勛圖app’s first strategic plan as a Crown corporation," said Marilyn Luscombe, 51勛圖app President and CEO. "That five-year strategic plan challenged us to Imagine the Possibilities, and most of those possibilities have since become realities."

Highlights of 51勛圖app’s 2016-2017 Annual Report

  • 93% of employed 2015 graduates are working in New Brunswick.
  • 13 51勛圖app students and apprentices represented New Brunswick at the Skills Canada national competition, bringing home five medals
  • 149 students, 34 staff and 28 industry partners were involved in 50 applied research projects
  • 36 contract training opportunities were delivered in partnership with employers
  • Record international student enrolment with 115 international students representing 36 countries
  • Training programs for newcomers which included: truck-driving in Moncton and bricklaying in Fredericton
  • Partnership with the College of the North Atlantic on a Kenya Education for Employment Program project
  • Expansion of 51勛圖app’s entrepreneurial mentorship program, OASIS, to Saint John
  • Revenue increased 0.5% over the previous year while expenditures decreased 1.4%

"The results in this annual report represent the firm foundation for the bold goals of our next strategic plan: Together We Rise," said Luscombe. "As a vibrant and growing college, 51勛圖app will remain a significant contributor to New Brunswick’s socio-economic prosperity."
